§ 53.05 CUSTOMER TO FURNISH SHUTOFF VALVE.
The customer shall furnish, install and maintain a shutoff valve in the water line at a point that will protect his property in case of failure of the Water Utility lines or equipment. This valve should be placed at a point where the property owner's line enters his residence or building. This allows the customer to shut off the water source when needed repairs are required. At no time is the customer or property owner to shut off the source of supply in the meter tile. If the Water Department is requested to shut off the water in the meter tile, the customer/property owner will be required to pay a service fee as set forth in § 53.25.
