175.06 COMPENSATION OF JURORS; TAXATION OF JURY FEES AS COSTS.
   (a)   A juror shall be paid mileage, at the rate set by the Commissioner of Finance and Administration for state employees, for travel expenses from the juror’s residence to the place of holding court and return and shall be reimbursed for daily service at the rate currently then set by the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Jackson County, West Virginia.
   (b)   Anytime a panel of prospective jurors has been required to report to Municipal Court for the selection of a trial jury in any scheduled matter, the Court shall assess a jury cost. The jury cost shall be the actual cost of the jurors’ service and, in criminal proceedings, shall be assessed against the defendant upon conviction, whether by plea, by bench trial or by jury verdict.
   (c)   No juror who departs without leave of the court or who, being summoned as a witness for the City or the defendant, may be entitled to receive any reimbursement for services as a juror.
