Each employee may use up to three days of his or her sick leave for each calendar year as personal leave. Personal leave may be used for any purpose which requires the employee to be absent from work and shall be used in increments of not less than one-half day at a time. Any personal leave days or portions thereof which are not used by an employee during the calendar year shall be designated as sick leave and shall accumulate in the same manner as unused sick leave. The maximum number of personal leave days allowed each employee for a calendar year shall remain constant and personal leave time shall not accumulate or carry over from one calendar year to the next.
