Adopting Fiscal Year 2023/2024 Appropriations
 
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIGBY, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF IDAHO, APPROPRIATING $29,815,617 FOR THE 2023/24 FISCAL YEAR TO DEFRAY ALL NECESSARY EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR THE OBJECTS AND PURPOSES FOR WHICH SUCH APPROPRIATIONS ARE MADE AND THE AMOUNT APPROPRIATED FOR EACH OBJECT OR PURPOSE; LEVYING AD VALOREUM TAXES IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,871,028 FOR THE 2023 FISCAL YEAR UPON ALL THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF RIGBY; PROVIDING THAT A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE FILED WITH THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF JEFFERSON COUNTY, IDAHO AND WITH THE IDAHO SECRETARY OF STATE; PROVIDING FOR THIS ORDINANCE TO TAKE EFFECT UPON ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION ACCORDING TO LAW.
 
WHEREAS; the City has provided proper notice and held a public hearing on August 17, 2023 regarding the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2023/24; and
WHEREAS; the City Council has reviewed the proposed budget and determined that the expenditures are necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIGBY AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the appropriations and the amount appropriated for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024 be set as follows for the objects and purposes as herein specified.

The amounts listed under the General Fund include amounts for salaries, benefits, supplies, contractual services, printing and publication, capital outlay, debt service, insurance charges, and other operating expenses, maintenance of City Hall, and public welfare and general contingencies, for all City departments, offices, and facilities not set out in the above list, including budgets for the Mayor and City Council.
Section 2. The City of Rigby hereby certifies a tax levy in an amount not to exceed $1,871,028 on taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Rigby, to provide for the following purposes:

Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Rigby is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this Ordinance with the County Commissioners of Jefferson County, Idaho and the Idaho Secretary of State, in accordance with Idaho Code 50-1003 and 50-1007.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and after one publication of the official newspaper of said City.
After three (3) reading of the ordinance, the City Council of the City of Rigby, Idaho at a convened meeting held on 7th day of September, 2023 passed with a roll call vote.
