There is hereby established for the Village a Veteran's Commission to perform the following duties and functions:
(a) Serve as a centralized point of contact for veterans and their families to bring matters of interest to the attention of the Village;
(b) To advise the President and Board of Trustees on matters pertaining to veterans and how to best increase the participation and effectiveness of veterans within the community;
(c) Increase awareness of educational, employment and other community resource opportunities available to veterans who live in the Village;
(d) Support the development of suitable memorials for veterans;
(e) Perform such other functions and duties as may be assigned by the Village President from time to time.
