   (d)   Elevator Alarm Activation/False/Nuisance Alarms. All elevators are required to have installed an “Elevator Button Tamper Protection Device” over the button that contacts emergency services to avoid false activation of the elevator call alarm. Failure to install and maintain such devices shall subject the owner to fines not less than two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) nor more than seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00) for each offense.
   (e)   Fire/Sprinkler Alarm Reset Fees. Upon activation of a fire/sprinkler alarm system, the system shall only be reset or directed to be reset (restored to a secure or clear condition) by Fire Department personnel. The fee for resetting a fire/sprinkler alarm system without authorization from the Fire Department shall be subject to a fine not to exceed seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00).
   (f)   Multifamily/Residential Building Inspections with a Public Area. Each entrance to a separate area of a building shall be inspected. Front and rear doors in the same area are counted as only one entrance.

   (g)   Emergency Access Maintenance. 
      (1)   It shall be the responsibility of every property owner and/or manager to provide current telephone numbers, current insurance information and contact persons to be notified in case of emergency involving their property and/or building. Changes should be made in writing and sent to the Richton Park Fire Department.
      (2)   If a business/multifamily building changes locks, they must notify the Fire Department and get new keys for the Knox box. If the Fire Department responds and the keys are not valid the business/property owner/manager may be fined.

   (h)   Fire Extinguishing Systems. Certification of inspection is to be forwarded to the Fire Prevention Bureau for all extinguishing systems, which require semi-annual inspection. If this is not complied with, the Fire Prevention Bureau will have the test performed, and they will witness it. The testing fee will be one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00).
