868.01 DEFINITIONS.
   As used in this chapter:
   (a)   "Commercial Soliciting" means the door-to-door selling or offering for sale of property, goods, wares, merchandise, food or services of any kind, character or description whatever, for any kind of consideration, for future delivery or performance, but excluding noncommercial solicitation as defined in this chapter. "Commercial solicitation" shall not include the sale of goods by persons conducting fundraising activities for local schools or youth scouting organizations where the goods will be delivered at a future date.
   (b)   "Noncommercial Soliciting" means the door-to-door soliciting of gifts, support or contributions of money, clothing or any other valuable thing for the support of any bona fide charitable, political, religious or not-for-profit organization purposes.
   (c)   "Registered solicitor" includes any person who has obtained a valid certificate of registration as provided in this chapter, which certificate is in the possession of the solicitor on his or her person while engaged in soliciting.
   (d)   "Residence" means a separate living unit occupied for residential purposes by one or more persons, in any type of building or other structure.
   (e)   "Soliciting" means the following door-to-door activities:
      (1)   Seeking to obtain orders for the purchase of goods, wares, merchandise, foodstuffs or services of any kind, character or description, for any kind of consideration;
      (2)   Seeking to obtain prospective customers for application or purchase of insurance of any type, kind or character;
      (3)   Seeking to obtain subscriptions to books, magazines, periodicals, newspapers or any other type or kind of publication; or
