The Village may supervise or inspect all work performed by the grantee or his or her agents upon public ways to ensure compliance with this chapter. If such an inspection reveals that the grantee has failed, in the Village's judgment, to fulfill its obligations under this chapter, the Village shall notify the grantee, in writing, of its specific deficiencies. If the grantee has not commenced the needed corrective action within forty-eight hours of receipt of such notification, the Village, at the direction of the Board of Trustees, may undertake the necessary repairs for restoration at the grantee's sole expense under Section 814.35.
