(a) The Chief of Police is hereby authorized, after consultation and upon the advice of the Village Engineer or his or her representative, to establish appropriate weight limitations for all vehicular traffic over and upon the streets, roads, highways and thoroughfares in the Village.
(b) The Chief of Police shall cause to be promptly and properly displayed, upon the streets, roads, highways and thoroughfares in the Village, appropriate signs indicating the weight limitations for all vehicular traffic on such streets, roads, highways and thoroughfares.
