426.04 SALE OF VEHICLE; TRANSFER OF LICENSE TO BUYER.
   (a)   Expiration of Sticker. Immediately upon the sale of any motor vehicle licensed under this chapter, the vendor shall remove the vehicle license or plate from such vehicle. Except as provided in subsections (b) and (c) hereof, such license shall no longer be valid and shall cease to apply upon the sale of such vehicle.
   (b)   Transfer to Buyer. A Village vehicle license decal or plate may be transferred to the purchaser of such vehicle upon written application to the Village Clerk within three business days after the sale of such vehicle, by the purchaser of such vehicle, payment of a ten dollar ($10.00) transfer fee, and surrender of the old decal or plate.
   (c)   Transfer to New Vehicle. Whenever the owner of a motor vehicle sells or otherwise disposes of such vehicle before the expiration of a Village vehicle license decal or plate issued for such vehicle, such license may be transferred to a different motor vehicle of the same class upon written application to the Village Clerk within three business days after the sale of such vehicle, giving such information as the Clerk may require, the payment of a ten dollar ($10.00) transfer fee and surrender of the old decal or plate.
