(a) The Village President elected at the April, 2005 consolidated election, and each President elected or appointed thereafter, shall receive the sum of eighteen thousand dollars ($18,000.00) annually for all duties performed by the Village President and shall have use of a Village vehicle. The Village President elected at the April, 2021 election and each President elected or appointed thereafter, shall receive the sum of twenty-seven thousand dollars ($27,000.00) annually for all duties performed by the Village President and shall have use of a Village vehicle.

(b) Each Trustee elected at the April, 2001 consolidated election, and each Trustee elected or appointed thereafter, shall receive six thousand three hundred dollars ($6,300.00) annually. Each Trustee elected at the April, 2019 consolidated election, and each Trustee elected or appointed thereafter, shall receive ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) annually.

(c) The Clerk elected at the April, 2001 consolidated election, and each Clerk elected or appointed thereafter, shall receive six thousand three hundred dollars ($6,300.00) annually. The Clerk elected in 2021, and each Clerk elected or appointed thereafter, shall receive ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) annually.

(d) The Local Liquor Commissioner shall be paid six hundred dollars ($600.00) annually.
(e) The Village President, Village Trustee and Village Clerk shall be entitled to certain insurance coverage based upon the following terms:
(1) The Village President, Village Trustee and Village Clerk elected at the April, 2001 election and elected or appointed prior to the April, 2005 election shall be entitled to participate in the Village’s group health insurance program on the same basis as full-time Village employees.
(2) Any Village President, Village Trustee or Village Clerk elected at the April, 2005 consolidated election, or elected or appointed thereafter shall be entitled to participate in the Village's group health and dental insurance programs for individual coverage. The Village shall pay 80% of the premium costs for such coverage and the respective municipal officer shall pay the remainder. Family coverage shall be made available to those municipal officers at 100% of the premium costs. If the municipal officer chooses not to participate in the Village’s group health or dental insurance programs, or if it is determined that such officer is ineligible to participate, then such officer shall receive cash-in-lieu of insurance in an amount equal to 80% of the premium costs for such coverage.
(3) Any Village President, Village Trustee or Village Clerk elected at the April, 2005 consolidated election, or elected or appointed thereafter shall be entitled to the same life insurance policy as full-time Village employees; however, those officers shall pay 100% of the premium costs.
(f) As used in this section, “legal meeting” means any of the following meetings of the Board of Trustees: a regular meeting, a special meeting, a regularly posted work session and a committee meeting of the whole Board. When an official elected at the April, 2005 consolidated election, or elected or appointed thereafter has missed eight or more legal meetings during the fiscal year, the official’s annual salary shall be reduced by 1/48 for each legal meeting missed thereafter. Meetings missed because of a death in the official’s immediate family shall not be included in the determination of the number of meetings missed. Only one salary reduction per week will be recognized.

(g) Expenses incurred by the Village Treasurer shall be paid by the Board whenever incurred. Expenses incurred by the Clerk, the Board and the President shall be determined from time to time by the Board.

(h) The salary of all other appointed officials and employees may be established in the annual appropriation ordinance or in some other manner as determined by the Board.

(i) The Manager is hereby authorized to hire and replace employees under his or her authority, within the pay scale and authorized positions listed in the compensation schedule established from time to time by the Board, subject to sufficient funds being budgeted and appropriated for the positions.
