202.05 MODIFICATIONS; AUTHORITY TO STRIKE INVALID PORTIONS.
   (a)   No person shall change or amend, by additions or deletions, any part of this Code, insert or delete pages or parts thereof or alter or tamper therewith in any manner whatsoever which will cause the laws of the Village to be misrepresented thereby. However, the Village Manager may make nonsubstantive changes, such as spelling changes, grammatical changes or punctuation changes, so long as such changes give clearer intent to the purposes for which the ordinance or resolution being changed was passed or adopted. Copies of such changes, once made, shall be made available to the Board of Trustees and its President.
   (b)   Should any court of competent jurisdiction invalidate or strike any word, phrase, clause, punctuation, paragraph, subsection, section, chapter or other portion of this Code, then on motion of the corporate authorities, such stricken or invalidated portion of this Code may be stricken on its face by the Village Manager.
