§ 35.096 COMPOSITION OF COMMISSION; APPOINTMENT AND TERMS OF COMMISSIONERS.
   (A)   The Recreational, Tourist and Convention Commission shall be composed of seven commissioners.
   (B)   The Commissioners composing the Recreational, Tourist and Convention Commission shall be appointed as follows: the Mayor of the city, with the approval of the City Commission, shall appoint the following Commissioners to the Recreational, Tourist and Convention Commission:
      (1)   Three Commissioners from a list submitted by the local hotel and motel association.
      (2)   One Commissioner from a list submitted by the local restaurant association.
      (3)   One Commissioner from a list submitted by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce.
      (4)   Two Commissioner submitted by the Mayor of the City of Richmond.
   (C)   All appointments shall be approved by the City Commission.
   (D)   The Commissioners shall be appointed for terms of three years, provided, that in making the initial appointments, the Mayor shall appoint two Commissioners for a term of three years, two Commissioners for a term of four years and three Commissioners for one year terms.
   (E)   Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner that original appointments are made.
   (F)   The Commission shall elect from its membership a Chairman and a Treasurer to make such contracts as are necessary to effectively carry out the purposes of KRS 91A.350 to 91A.390. Such contracts may include but shall not be limited to the procurement of promotional services, advertising services and other services and materials relating to the promotion of recreational, tourist and convention activities.
   (G)   Commissioners may be removed from office by the appointing authority as provided by KRS 65.007.
   (H)   The Commission's books shall be audited according to KRS 65A.030, by a certified public accountant who shall make a report to the Commission, and furnish a copy to the organizations which submit names for selection to membership, to the Richmond Board of Commissioners.
