§ 70.99 PENALTY.

   (A)   Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99.

   (B)   (1)   Violation of any provision of §§ 70.01 through 70.08 of this chapter or applicable state motor vehicle law may result in revocation of the golf cart registration by the town.

      (2)   In lieu of revocation of the registration on the offender’s first offense, any violation of §§ 70.01 through 70.08 of this chapter shall result in a civil penalty against the offender in the amount of $100. Said penalty shall be payable to the Town Clerk within ten days of issuance.

      (3)   A second or third violation of any provisions of §§ 70.01 through 70.08 of this chapter within the same registration year shall result in a civil penalty of $100 and may also result in revocation of the golf cart registration assigned to the cart.

      (4)   All provisions enumerated in this division (B) may be enforced through the authority granted in G.S. § 160A-175. The town may also seek any and all appropriate equitable remedies, injunctions and abatement orders from the court of competent jurisdiction.
