(EDITOR'S NOTE: See Section 202.99 for general Code penalty if no specific penalty is provided.)Any person under the age of seventeen years charged with a first offense violation of this chapter shall be issued a violation notice or citation by any duly authorized peace or law enforcement officer, which notice shall require the juvenile so charged to obtain the signature of his or her parent or guardian on the notice. If such signature is obtained and the notice returned to the Reed City Police Department within forty-eight hours after the issuance of the violation citation, the same shall be dismissed. If the juvenile has been previously issued a citation or if a signed notice is not returned within the above time limit, the officer or other person having knowledge of such offense may proceed against the juvenile for such violation as provided by law.
