The traffic engineer is authorized when any emergency condition as indicated by a traffic engineering investigation exists at any highway intersection or intersections, to place and maintain stop signs as provided in section 10.36.030 of this chapter for the duration of such emergency condition. Such stop signs shall be removed when such emergency condition ceases to exist unless otherwise determined by the city council. (Prior code § 67605)
