Any solicitor, peddler or itinerant salesman who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor; and upon conviction thereof and, in addition to automatic revocation of his certificate of registration, shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment in the city jail, or the county jail of the county of San Bernardino, for a period of not more than six (6) months or by both such fine and imprisonment.
