2.72.020: MEMBERSHIP:
   A.   The citizens' Measure T (2020) advisory committee shall consist of seven (7) members. Two (2) members shall represent the city’s employee bargaining units and shall each serve for a one (1) year term until his or her successor is appointed. Three (3) members shall each initially serve a four (4) year term, and two (2) members shall each initially serve a two (2) year term; and thereafter, each member shall serve for a staggered four (4) year term until his or her successor is appointed.
   B.   The five (5) citizen members of the committee shall each be selected from one (1) council district, and be appointed by the council member of that corresponding district, with the approval of the city council. One (1) member of the committee shall represent the public safety employee bargaining units, rotating each fiscal year between police and fire, and appointed by the mayor with the approval of the city council. One (1) member of the committee shall represent the remaining non-public safety employee bargaining units, rotating each fiscal year between the five (5) non-public safety employee bargaining units, and appointed by the mayor with the approval of the city council.
   C.   Vacancies on the committee shall be filled by appointment as set forth above for the unexpired portion of the term. No person representing a council district shall serve more than two (2) consecutive terms unless appointed to an additional term by a four-fifths (4/5) vote of the city council. The committee members shall serve without compensation, shall each be a resident of the city with the exception of the two (2) members representing the city's employee bargaining units, and shall be neither a member of any other standing commission, board or committee of the city nor an employee thereof. Any member of the committee may be removed from the committee prior to the end of his or her term by a four-fifths (4/5) vote of the city council. (Ord. 2923, 2021; Ord. 2916, 2020)
