Every person, not otherwise licensed by other provisions of this chapter and chapter 5.04 of this title, having a fixed place of business in the city, selling, keeping for sale, goods, wares or merchandise, or any article of personal property, or who charges for services rendered, or for work or labor performed, or who conducts or carries on any line of business therein, not otherwise licensed herein, shall pay a semiannual license fee in accordance with the following schedule based on the annual gross receipts for the preceding calendar year:

Five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) and over shall pay the semiannual fee of six dollars ($6.00) plus one dollar fifty cents ($1.50) for each additional five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) annual gross receipts or fraction thereof. (Prior code § 2211)
