Lot widths and depths may be reduced below the standard of the district; however, to preserve and maintain the quality of the zone and surrounding neighborhoods, all lots abutting a dedicated public street shall have a lot width not less than the minimum required for the zone. Certain exceptions may be approved by the commission where it can be shown that a reduction in lot width will not adversely affect the character and quality of the surrounding neighborhood.
