It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to violate or allow violations of any mandatory requirement of this chapter. Every person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor. Such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this chapter is committed, continued or permitted. Upon conviction, such person may be punished by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
