Section 910.3.5 of the California fire code is hereby amended to read as follows:
910.3.5 Sprinklered Buildings. Where installed in buildings equipped with an approved automatic sprinkler system, smoke and heat vents shall be designed to operate automatically by the actuation of a heat responsive device rated at least 100 degrees F above the operating temperature of the sprinkler heads, or manually with independent controls for the fire department pursuant to section 914.12.
