The term of office, election and the qualifications and eligibility and the filling of vacancies for the City Auditor shall be as provided in the Charter.
As part of the process to qualify to take office, a City Auditor, newly elected or commencing a new term, must take and subscribe to the oath of office pursuant to 53 Pa. C.S. § 1141 (relating to form of oaths of office) within 14 days of the date of the first Monday in January after the election. Failure to take the oath of office within 14 days of the first Monday in January after the election shall result in ineligibility to qualify to take office and cause the seat to be declared vacant and filled by Council in accordance with Charter Section 505 Vacancy. Any person appointed to fill a vacancy and succeed the term of the current City Auditor, shall take and subscribe to the oath of office within 14 days of the appointment
