§ 31.21 PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR.
   (A)   The appointive offices of Water Commissioner, Wastewater Commissioner, Street Department Commissioner and Landfill Commissioner are hereby combined and merged, in accordance with the authority granted to the City Council in § 31.02. The Public Works Director shall perform all of the duties of the above appointed offices. In addition, he or she shall have the following duties:
      (1)   Public buildings. He or she shall be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all city owned buildings, public restroom facilities, and Auditorium. He or she shall be responsible for submitting at least every six months a detailed report to the City Administrator, City Council and Mayor a condition of said buildings and suggested improvements and repairs thereon. He or she shall be responsible for the supervision and control of all maintenance employees which may be hired, from time to time, by the City Administrator, Mayor and City Council to maintain the city's public buildings.
      (2)   City-owned equipment. With the exception of the Police Department vehicles, he or she shall be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all city owned vehicles, equipment, tools and shop. He or she shall be responsible for submitting at least every six months a detailed report to the City Administrator, City Council and Mayor a condition of all city-owned vehicles, equipment, and tools and suggested improvements and repairs thereon. He or she shall be responsible for the supervision and control of all employees which may be hired, from time to time, by the City Administrator, Mayor and City Council to operate and maintain city owned equipment.
      (3)   Park Commissioner. He or she shall be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all city-owned parks, shelters, picnic tables, basketball courts, restrooms, cemeteries, trails, and swimming pool. He or she shall be responsible for submitting at least every six months a detailed report to the Park Board as to such improvements, additions and repairs which he or she believes are needed. He or she shall be responsible for the supervision and control all employees which may be hired, from time to time, by the City Administrator, Mayor and City Council to maintain the city's public grounds. However, the supervision and control of employees at the city's swimming pool shall be the responsibility of the Park Board.
   (B)   The Public Works Director shall provide a bond conditioned upon the faithful discharge of duties which shall amount not less than the amount set by resolution of the City Council and on file in the office of the Clerk/Treasurer.
