1434.01 PURPOSE.

   The Purpose of this Chapter is:

   (a)    To safeguard the heritage of the City of Ravenna by preserving districts and landmarks which reflect elements of the City's history, architecture, archaeology, engineering or culture;

   (b)   To maintain and enhance the distinctive character of historic buildings and areas;

   (c)    To protect and enhance the City's attractions to prospective residents, businesses, and tourists;

   (d)    To facilitate reinvestment in and revitalization of certain older districts and neighborhoods;

   (e)    To foster civic beauty;

   (f)    To stabilize and increase property values; and

   (g)    To strengthen the local economy.
