1412.04 INSPECTIONS; CERTIFICATES OF APPROVAL.
   (a)   The Electrical Inspector shall make one inspection after the joints have been made up, soldered and taped. He or she shall make another inspection after completion of the work.
   (b)   If, upon inspection, an installation is found not to be fully in compliance with the Electrical Code, the Electrical Inspector shall at once forward to the person installing the wiring a written notice stating the defects which have been found to exist.
   (c)   The Electrical Inspector has the right, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on any weekday, to enter any building for the purpose of making any inspection or test of the installation of electric wiring, electric devices and electric equipment contained therein in every case where a permit has been issued under authority of the Electrical Code, and has the authority to cause the turning off of all electric current and to cut or disconnect, in case of emergency, any wire where such electric current is dangerous to life or property or where such wire may interfere with the work of the Fire Department.
   (d)   Upon completion of the wiring of any building, it is the duty of the person installing the same to notify the Electrical Inspector, who shall inspect the installation within twenty-four hours from the time such notice is given, and if it is found to be fully in compliance with all laws relating thereto, including the Electrical Code, and not to constitute a hazard to life and property, the Electrical Inspector shall issue to such person for delivery to the owner, a stamp of approval authorizing connection to electrical service and the turning on of the current.
   (e)   When any part of a wiring installation is to be hidden from view by the permanent placement of parts of the building, the person installing the wiring shall notify the Electrical Inspector, and such parts of the wiring installation shall not be concealed until they have been inspected or until twenty-four hours, exclusive of Saturday afternoons, Sundays and legal holidays, have elapsed from the time of such notification, provided that on large installations where the concealment of parts of the wiring proceeds continuously, the person installing the wiring shall give the Electrical Inspector due notice, and inspections shall be made periodically during the progress of the work.
   (f)   The Electrical Inspector may issue a temporary certificate of approval for a period of thirty days, at the end of which period the use of any wiring or apparatus placed in service under such temporary certificate shall be discontinued until a permanent stamp of approval is secured, provided that the temporary certificate of approval may be renewed at the discretion of the Electrical Inspector.
