1412.02 ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR.
   An Electrical Inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall hold office at the pleasure of the Mayor or until he or she has been proved to be not qualified for the position. An Assistant Electrical Inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall hold office at the pleasure of the Mayor or until he or she has been proved to be not qualified for the job. Each Inspector shall be appointed for a four-year term, coinciding with the regular elective term of the Mayor. Both the Inspector and the Assistant Inspector must have five years, or more, of house and factory wiring experience before they can be appointed to their respective positions. The Assistant Inspector shall perform the duties of the Inspector only during the absence or disability of the Inspector.
   The Electrical Inspector shall not engage in the business of selling, installing or maintaining electrical wiring, electrical devices and electrical equipment, either directly or indirectly. He or she shall have no financial interest in any concern engaged in such business in the City while he or she holds the office of Electrical Inspector.
