(A) Whenever a vacancy in the office of Village Clerk appointed under the statutes occurs during the term, the vacancy shall be filled for the remainder of the term at the next general election as provided in § 31.33 of this code of ordinances.
(B) During this period from the time that the vacancy occurs until a Clerk is elected and has qualified, the vacancy may be filled by the appointment of an acting Clerk by the Mayor and the Board of Trustees voting jointly.
