§ 91.01 RABIES INOCULATION.
   (A)   Yearly inoculation. Each calendar year or at such intervals as may hereafter be promulgated by the village’s Board of Trustees, every owner of a dog or cat shall cause such dog or cat to be inoculated against rabies by the county’s Rabies Inspector, or his or her deputy or by any licensed veterinarian.
      (1)   Certificate of evidence of inoculation. Evidence of such inoculation shall consist of a certificate signed by the person administering the vaccine.
      (2)   All dogs or cats inoculated. It shall be unlawful for any person to bring any dog or cat into the village unless such dog or cat has been inoculated as provided by the Illinois Compiled Statutes. All such dogs or cats must also have substantial collar, attached to which shall be a current metallic tag signifying a rabies inoculation within the last year.
   (B)   Certificate of inoculation. No dog or cat license shall be issued unless a valid certificate of inoculation against rabies is attached to the application for a dog or cat license and unless such certificate was issued by the county’s Rabies Inspector, or by his or her deputy or by a licensed veterinarian, within one year prior to the date of the application for dog or cat license.
