§ 42.014 TERMINATION OF OFFICE.
   Every officer of the city, upon the termination of his or her office for any cause whatsoever, shall deliver to his or her successor all books and records which maybe the property of the city; and if no successor has been appointed within one week after the termination of office, the property shall be delivered to the City Clerk or Treasurer.
