(A) (1) On the following roads, Shortcut Road, Bainbridge/Roachdale Road and Manhattan Road, no person shall drive a motor vehicle in excess of the posted speed limit. Violators can be issued a state ordinance citation for violation of the speed limit on the above stated roads, per Indiana Code.
(2) No person shall drive a motor vehicle on any county road in an unincorporated area at a speed greater than 45 mph, with the following exceptions.

(3) No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed greater than 35 mph on any public road in a “platted subdivision” located in the county in an unincorporated area.
(4) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (A) above shall be subject to the penalty provided in § 71.99.
(B) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 25 East has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 30 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (B)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C infraction.
(C) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 1000 North has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 30 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (C)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C infraction.
(D) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 400 West, between 125S and Bridge 276, in Madison Township, in the county, has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 30 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (D)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C infraction.
(E) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 1000 South, between the incorporated Town of Cloverdale and one-half mile west of the incorporated Town of Cloverdale has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 35 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (E)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C infraction.
(F) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 400 West, between 400W Manhattan and 900S, in Washington Township, in the county, has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 30 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (F)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C infraction.
(G) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 1200 South from U.S. 231 to County Road 600E in the county, has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 35 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (G)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C infraction.
(H) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 125 West from 25S to the Greencastle corporation limit in the county, has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 30 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (H)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C infraction.
(I) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 100 East from the Greencastle corporate limit to County Road 25 South has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 30 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (I)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C Infraction.
(J) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Roads 900 North and 600 East in Jackson Township that are within the unincorporated Town of New Maysville in the county has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 30 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (J)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C Infraction.
(K) (1) The reasonable and safe maximum speed limit for County Road 800 South between County Road 625 West and private entrance to Apple Blossom Subdivision, in Washington Township, in the county, has been decreased from the state prima facie speed limit, as properly authorized by state law, on the basis of traffic investigation relative to special hazards and safety to 20 mph.
(2) Any person violating the speed limit as described in division (K)(1) above shall be cited and prosecuted for a Class C Infraction.
(L) (1) Taking into consideration the risks and benefits of a lower speed limit on Heritage Drive, Putnam County State of Indiana, the Putnam County Board of Commissioners hereby determine, that it is in the best interests of the citizens of Putnam County, Indiana, to reduce the speed limit on Heritage Drive to 30 miles per hour.
(2) Persons violating the provisions of this ordinance commit a Class C Infraction pursuant to I.C. 9-21-5-2(b), subject to the penalty imposed for a Class C Infraction, as set forth in I.C. 34-28-5-4.
