10-20-19: TERMS BEGINNING WITH "P":
PARAPET OR PARAPET WALL: A wall-like barrier at the edge of a roof that acts as a vertical extension of an exterior building wall extending above the roof height of the building. Parapets may serve as a safety or architectural feature.
PARENT TRACT: The parcel of land from which a new lot or tract of land is being taken from.
PARKING AREA: The vehicular driving surfaces and parking area which includes the parking spaces, the maneuvering areas necessary to enter and exit the spaces and the drives providing access to the parking spaces and maneuvering areas from a public or private street or other parking areas.
PARKING SPACE, OFF-STREET: A space on a lot intended and reserved for the parking of an automobile.
PARKING SPACE, REQUIRED OFF-STREET: A space on a lot reserved for parking required by this UDO.
PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE: A financial guarantee posted by the developer and approved by the City, guaranteeing that all improvements, facilities, or work required by these regulations will be completed in compliance with these regulations and the approved plans and specifications of a development.
PERMANENT FOUNDATION: A foundation that meets the requirements of the Building Code.
PHASING PLAN: A detailed plan for final platting and development of a subdivision in two (2) or more phases.
PHOTOVOLTAIC CELL: A semiconductor device that converts solar energy into electricity.
PLANNING COMMISSION: See subsection 10-1-9I4 of this title.
PLAT, FINAL: A map of a subdivision prepared in a form suitable for filing of record with necessary affidavits, dedications and acceptances, and with complete bearings and dimensions of all lines defining lots and blocks, streets and alleys, public areas and other dimensions of land.
PLAT, PRELIMINARY: A map of a proposed subdivision showing the character and proposed layout of the tract in sufficient detail to indicate the suitability of the proposed subdivision of land.
PRINCIPAL BUILDING: A building or combination of buildings of chief importance or function on a lot. In general, the principal use is carried out in the principal building.
PRINCIPAL USE: A use or activity or combination of which are of chief importance on the lot; one of the main purposes for which the land, buildings or structures are intended, designed or ordinarily used.
PROOF GALLON: One liquid gallon of beverage grade spirits that is fifty percent (50%) alcohol by volume at sixty degrees Fahrenheit (60°F). Note: Spirits bottled at 80 proof (40 percent alcohol) would be 0.8 proof gallons per gallon of liquid. At 125 proof, a gallon of liquid would be 1.25 proof gallons. (Ord. 2018-16, 12-4-2018)
