The enforcement officer of the city shall cause to be investigated reports of animal bites. If an animal has bitten a person, an enforcement officer shall notify the owner of the animal and the animal shall be delivered promptly to a licensed veterinarian who shall confine or cause to be confined or observed such animal as provided in the animal control act. If the owner is not known, such enforcement officer shall take such animal promptly to a licensed veterinarian to be confined, as provided in the animal control act. (Ord. 0-77-26, 10-17-1977)
