The enforcement officers of the city may impound, at their discretion, unlicensed dogs or cats four (4) months of age or older; any animal found running at large; any abandoned animal; or any animal maintained in violation of this chapter.
A record shall be made of all impounded animals, entering the breed, color and sex, whether licensed or not, if known, and the name and address of the owner or keeper, if known. If practicable, the police shall keep licensed animals separated from unlicensed ones. (Ord. 0-77-26, 10-17-1977)
