4-5-13: ENGINEERING FEES:
No building permit required by the code of this city that affects the building's exterior footprint, drainage, value of property in floodplain, impervious square footage of property or construction that can adversely effect the city's infrastructure shall be issued without the city engineer's or designee's approval. The fees to be charged for either engineering plan review or inspection shall be as follows:
   A.   Residential (Single-Family And Multi-Family):
      1.   New construction: New residential construction permits will cost five hundred dollars ($500.00) for review and will include preliminary and final inspections.
      2.   Additions:
a. Significant additions where the footprint of the house is increased by twenty percent (20%) or more and/or grading is required will cost five hundred dollars ($500.00) for review and will include preliminary and final inspections.
b. Significant additions where the footprint of the house is increased by twenty percent (20%) or more and grading is not required will cost two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) and include preliminary and final inspections.
c. Additions where the increase is less than twenty percent (20%) will cost seventy five dollars ($75.00) and include preliminary and final inspections.
      3.   Remodeling:
a. Remodeling where construction value is greater than twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) will cost the following:

b. Remodeling where construction value is less than twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) will cost seventy five dollars ($75.00) and include preliminary and final inspections.
      4.   Detached garage: Review of detached garage construction will cost seventy five dollars ($75.00) and include preliminary and final inspections.
      5.   Pools, decks, patios, gazebos, sidewalks, inspection included: Fifty dollars ($50.00).
      6.   Sheds or other small accessory structures, inspection included: Twenty five dollars ($25.00).
      7.   Construction or maintenance work, inspection included, in ROW (including driveways and culverts): Fifty dollars ($50.00).
      8.   Site grading (not designated floodplain), inspection included: Fifty dollars ($50.00).
      9.   Site grading (in floodplain), inspection included: One hundred dollars ($100.00).
      10.   Floodplain determination, inspection not included: Thirty five dollars ($35.00).
      11.   LOMRs, LOMAs, etc., inspection not included: Thirty five dollars ($35.00).
Any additional inspections required for subsections A5 through A9 of this section due to complaints, code violations or improper construction practice shall be considered additional to the original permit and charged in accordance with subsection 4-5-4H of this chapter.
   B.   Commercial Properties:
      1.   Industrial or commercial: The fees will be set as follows:

   C.   Parking Lots: A permit is required for any resurfacing or reconstruction work performed on a parking lot. The plan review will cost five hundred dollars ($500.00) and will include two (2) inspections.
   D.   Subdivisions: For subdivision review fees refer to subsection 6-7-4C of this code. Any inspections due to unforeseen events or required reinspections will be billed at fifty dollars ($50.00) per inspection.
   E.   Outside Fees: Any outside fees incurred by the engineering department for indirect mailings, copying costs or consulting fees deemed necessary by the city engineer shall be reimbursed by the applicant.
   F.   Additional Fees: Additional fees may apply for projects with large impervious areas (greater than 25 percent of lot coverage) or set in floodplain. (Ord. 0-03-09, 3-17-2003, eff. 3-27-2003)
