3-11-6: NOTICE:
If any tree growing on any premises in the city is found to be a diseased tree, the city administrator shall cause to be served a notice upon the owner or occupant of the premises on which the said tree is located to remove the said tree within ten (10) days (or such longer period of time as the city administrator may provide). Such notice shall be served personally on, or sent by certified mail to, the person to whom was sent the tax bill for the general taxes for the last preceding year on the property on which the said infected tree or trees are located and a copy of said notice shall be posted on the subject property. Such notice shall contain the following information:
   A.   The identity of the property, by common description.
   B.   The tree(s) affected.
   C.   A notice that it is unlawful under this chapter to permit such diseased tree to remain on the property.
   D.   A demand for the removal of the tree.
   E.   A notice that if the tree is not removed within ten (10) days (or such longer period of time as the city administrator may provide), the city will remove the same and charge the cost thereof to the owner or occupant of the property; and
   F.   A notice that if the cost and expense incurred in the removal of such diseased tree is not paid, then within sixty (60) days after the incurrence of such cost and expense a notice of lien on the real estate affected will be filed in the office of the recorder of deeds, or registrar of titles, whichever is applicable, of Cook County, Illinois.
