3-11-2: DEFINITIONS:
Whenever used herein, the following words shall have the following definitions:
ASH TREE: Any tree of the species Fraxinus including any genus, species, varieties and cultivars thereof.
DISEASED TREE: A tree infected with Dutch elm disease or any ash tree (Fraxinus sp.), including any genus, species, varieties and cultivars thereof, infested with the emerald ash borer.
DUTCH ELM DISEASE: A disease known scientifically as fungus Ceratostomella ulmi, fungus Graphium ulmi, or Phloem necrosis, and also commonly known as elm blight.
ELM BARK BEETLE: The European elm bark beetle known scientifically as Colytus nuitistriatus.
EMERALD ASH BORER: The beetle Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire.
PREMISES: Any lot or tract of land within the city not owned by the city or dedicated for public use.
TREE: Any tree of the species elm, including any portions thereof, the stumps thereof, and any woodpiles consisting of portions of any such tree. (Ord. 0-12-12, 4-9-2012)
