Each cable television grantee shall pay a franchise fee to the City of five percent (5%) of gross revenues as reimbursement for the City's costs in connection with reviewing, inspecting and supervising the use and occupancy of the public right of ways on behalf of the public and future users, and to support public, educational and governmental access.
A. The application for franchise may include proposals for the provision of public, educational and governmental access and service in lieu of this requirement. If such proposal is accepted by the City, it shall be incorporated into the franchise granted.
B. The City expressly reserves the right to increase franchise fees to the amount allowed by Federal law. (Ord. 0-96-78, 10-21-1996, eff. 10-31-1996)
