Whenever in this Code or in any ordinance of the City an act or omission is prohibited or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a violation of this Code, or whenever in this Code or such ordinance the doing of an act is required or the failure is declared to be unlawful or an offense or a violation of this Code, where no specific penalty is provided therefor, the violation of any such provision of this Code or any ordinance is hereby declared to be an offense and shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00). A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day or part thereof on which a violation occurs or continues or is permitted to occur or continue. (1981 Code)
