1717.01  DEFINITIONS.
   Wherever appearing in any one or more of the Model Building Codes adopted in Chapter Three of this Part Seventeen - Building and Housing Code, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: 
   (a)    "Administrative authority" means the City Manager or his duly authorized representative.
   (b)    "Building Department" and "Building Inspection Department" mean the office of the Building Official.
   (c)    "Building Inspector" means the Building Official or his duly authorized representative.
   (d)    "Chief Administrator" means the City Manager or his duly authorized representative.
   (e)    "Chief appointing authority" means the City Manager.
   (f)    "Corporation counsel" means the City Attorney.
   (g)    "Department of Law" means the office of the City Attorney.
   (h)    "Electrical Department" and "Electrical Inspection Department" mean the office of the Building Official.
   (i)    "Electrical inspector" means the Building Official or his duly authorized representative.
   (j)    "Engineering department" means the office of the Building Official.
   (k)    "Gas department" and "gas inspection department" mean the office of the Building Official.
   (l)    "Gas inspector" means the Building Official or his duly authorized representative.
   (m)    "Governing authorities" means the City Council, unless it appears from the context in which such term is used that the reference is to administrators rather than to legislators or policy makers, in which case such term means the City Manager.
   (n)    "The municipality" or "this municipality" means the City of Princeton.
   (o)    "Plumbing department" and "plumbing inspection department" means the office of the Building Official.
   (p)    "Plumbing inspector" means the Building Official or his authorized representative. (1975 Code Sec. 5-14)
