A. New members of the department shall be appointed by the chief, approved by the city manager, and shall be on probation for one year after their appointment. Upon completion of their probation period, new members must be approved by the majority of the other members of the department. (Ord. 395, 1-9-2006)
B. Any volunteer firefighter must live within the fire district. All volunteer firefighters must be able to arrive from their residence at the fire station within ten (10) minutes. No more than fifty percent (50%) of the members of the volunteer fire department are allowed to reside outside the city limits. (Ord. 354, 2-14-2000)
