Every person to whom a license has been issued under the provisions of Sections 745.30 through 745.39 shall, upon discontinuing or abandoning the driving of a taxicab, prior to the expiration of the license, return such license to the City Auditor unless the same has been lost or destroyed, in which event the City Auditor shall be notified. The company employing the driver shall be responsible for insuring the return of licenses and notifications required by this section.
