(A) When the Code Enforcement Department determines that there is a violation of this chapter, a 12-hour notice will be placed in a visible location on the vehicle.
(B) If the violation continues to exist 12 hours or more after the notice is posted, or in the case of a repeat offense, the vehicle will be towed and a citation given to the registered owner. All costs of citation will be given to the registered owner. All costs of towing will be charged against the registered owner.
(C) If after 30 days, the vehicle is not claimed, or upon conviction the fine is not paid, the vehicle will be considered abandoned and the city's lien will attach.
(D) The City Police Department is hereby authorized and directed to enforce the provisions of this chapter. The Building Official is further authorized to render interpretations of this code, which are consistent with its spirit and purpose.
