A fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) is hereby imposed upon any person whose driver's license or privilege to operate a motor vehicle in this State or any other state is reinstated after having been suspended for any of the following: (1) Failure to timely pay costs, fines, forfeitures or penalties imposed by the Point Pleasant Municipal Court; (2) Default on a payment plan for such costs, fines, forfeitures or penalties imposed by said Court; and/or (3) Failure to appear incident to a summons or failure to otherwise respond to said Court when charged with a violation of any offense contained within Article 501
of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Point Pleasant, all as provided for by the West Virginia Code.
The fee imposed by the terms of this ordinance shall be paid at the time the violator's driver's license or privilege to drive is reinstated by the State Division of Motor Vehicles. This fee is imposed to defer the costs to the City of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, associated with
administrative expenses related to the suspension and reinstatement of the violator's driver's license. (Ord. 12-12-16)
