(A) Work week of Chief. The Chief of Police shall work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

(B) Classification of patrolmen. Patrolmen shall be classified as follows:
(1) Class I - Probationary;
(2) Class II - Regular, after six months of probation; and
(3) Class III - Part-time (less than 40 hours per week).

(C) Promotional ranks. There is hereby created within the Police Department the rank of Sergeant and of Captain. Officers promoted into such ranks shall be subject to a six month probationary period and shall be paid as determined from time to time by Council.
