§ 111.002 REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in canvassing within the corporate limits of the town without being registered for that purpose as herein provided.
      (1)   Before any person shall engage in an act of canvassing he or she shall register with the Clerk Treasurer and shall give his or her complete identification, name of employer, nature and purpose of canvassing, name of organization or entity for whom they are canvassing. If a vehicle is being used during canvassing, the vehicle(s) make, model, color and license plate shall be provided.
      (2)   Each registrant shall pay to the Clerk Treasurer a registration fee of $25 to cover the process cost of the registration.
      (3)   Upon proper registration pursuant to this subchapter and the payment of the fee by the registrant the town shall issue a name tag approved by the town that shall be worn by the registrant in such a manner as to be visible and readable at all times while canvassing. The registration provided for herein shall be valid for a period of 30 calendar days commencing on the date that the fee is paid for such registration.
      (4)   Any such registration pursuant to this subchapter may be revoked by the Chief of Police of the town because of any violation by the registrant of this subchapter or any other ordinance of the town, or any state or federal law, and upon revocation of the registration of the canvasser any further act of canvassing by such person shall result in a violation of this subchapter and the application of the appropriate penalties.
   (B)   Registration fee exemption. As defined in this subchapter, individuals in the act of canvassing on behalf of a non-for-profit organization or a religious organization, that is exempt from the 501.C-3, shall not be required to pay the registration fee to the town.

§ 111.003 REGULATIONS.
   The following regulations shall govern the conduct of all canvassers:
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any canvasser to call at any dwelling, business, or other place before 8:00 a.m. local time and after 30 minutes before sunset, except by appointment.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful for any canvasser to remain on any premises after being asked to leave by the owner, occupant or other person having authority over such premises.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful for any canvasser to misrepresent or make false, deceptive or misleading statements while engaged in canvassing concerning the purpose of their visit, their identity or the identity of the organization they represent.
   (D)   It shall be unlawful for any canvasser to impede the free use of the sidewalks and street by pedestrians and vehicles.
   (E)   It shall be unlawful for any canvasser to allow any written materials to be dropped, thrown, or left on the sidewalks, streets, yards, vehicles, parks, residences or businesses within the limits of the town.

§ 111.004 “NO SOLICITING” SIGN.
   (A)   Before entering a neighborhood parcel or lot, individuals canvassing must:
      (1)   Check for "No Soliciting" signs, and
      (2)   If a sign is present, forego all efforts to solicit.
   (B)   It is a violation of this subchapter to violate a “No Solicitation” notice by ringing the doorbell, knocking on the door, or otherwise contacting anyone on the property.

§ 111.005 NUISANCE.
   In addition to the penalty provided for in § 111.999, any act of any person, firm or corporation violating any provisions of this subchapter is hereby declared to be a nuisance and all remedies applicable to a nuisance, both public and private, but not limited to injunction and damages, are hereby preserved.
