§ 54.20 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ASHES. The residue from burning of wood, coal, coke, or other combustible materials.
   GARBAGE. The putrescible animal and vegetable waste resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking, and consumption of food.
   PERSON. Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company, or organization of any kind.
   REFUSE. All putrescible and nonputrescible solid waste (except body waste) including garbage, rubbish, ashes, street cleanings, and solid market and industrial waste, but excluding all hazardous and low-level radioactive waste.
   RUBBISH. Nonputrescible solid waste, consisting of both combustible and noncombustible waste, such as paper, hardboard, tin cans, yard clippings, wood glass, bedding, crockery, and other similar materials.
   TOWN. The Town of Pittsboro, North Carolina.
