(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to demand as compensation for becoming surety or providing surety on any bail bond, or other court bond of any kind, a sum in excess of 5% of the amount of the bond; provided that a minimum charge of $5 may be made on bonds in amounts of less than $100.
(B) Every person accepting compensation for becoming surety or providing surety on a bail bond or court bond of any kind shall furnish the person paying the compensation a receipt showing the amount of compensation charged.
