SECTION 117 FILING AND VERIFICATION OF PETITIONS.
   (A)   All separate papers comprising a nominating petition shall be assembled and filed with the election authorities as one instrument at least seventy-five days prior to the first Tuesday following the next succeeding first Monday in November. Within ten days after the filing of a nominating petition the election authorities shall notify the person named therein as a candidate whether the petition is found to be signed by the required number of qualified electors. Any eligible person placed in nomination as herein before provided shall have his name printed on the ballots if, within five days after such notification, he shall have filed with the election authorities a written acceptance of the nomination.
   (B)   Objections or a challenge to the qualifications of a candidate who has been placed in nomination as herein before provided may be made and filed with the election authorities not less than ten (10) days following the final filing date. Any elector of the City of Piqua may make and file an affidavit stating the name of the candidate whose disqualification is sought, the office he is a candidate for, and the specific grounds alleged for such disqualification. Action and disposition shall be conducted by the election authorities as provided for by this charter and the provisions of the general election laws of the State of Ohio. Said action and disposition shall be based on and strictly construed to the specific grounds in said affidavit, and any affiant convicted of swearing falsely as regards any particular statement thereof shall be guilty of perjury.
