§ 51.02 REGULATIONS CONCERNING POLE ERECTION AND STREET AND SIDEWALK REPAIRS.
   All poles used by Carolina Power and Light Company, its successors, lessees or assigns, shall be erected under the supervision and direction of the Building Inspector of the village, and all highways, roads, streets, sidewalks, avenues, lanes, alleys, bridges and other public places that may be disturbed or damaged in the construction or maintenance of the lines, poles, wires and other appliances shall be promptly replaced or repaired by Carolina Power and Light Company, its successors, lessees or assigns, at its or their own expense, and to the satisfaction of the Building Inspector, and all poles shall be substantial and symmetrical, and so located as not to unreasonably interfere with the public use of the highways, roads, streets, sidewalks, avenues, lanes, alleys, bridges or other public places, or unnecessarily endanger the property or person of the citizens of the village. In case Carolina Power and Light Company, its successors, lessees or assigns shall fail to replace or repair the highways, roads, streets, sidewalks, avenues, lanes, alleys, bridges or other public places within ten days after written notice so to do from the Mayor, the same may be replaced or repaired by the proper authorities of the village. The Carolina Power and Light Company, its successors, lessees or assigns, in the event thereof shall faithfully pay to the village the cost of replacing and repairing, and pay, in addition thereto, the sum of $50 for each and every place so replaced or repaired, by way of a penalty for the failure.
